Monaco Yacht Show 2021 : What To Expect

Jun 25, 2021 | Events, News, Press, Things to see & do

With 3 months to go before the opening of the 2021 edition, the Monaco Yacht Show is fine-tuning its new format dedicated to superyacht end users.  Taking place from 22-25 September 2021 the show will be set in a safe environment, with the participation of major players from across the industry.

The organisers have announced there will be already be 300 exhibitors and nearly 60 superyachts attending, including 40 brand-new launches by some of the most famous shipyards – not to mention regulars at the MYS.

On Wednesday 22 September, a new Dockside area will be exclusively open to end customers in possession of a “Discover”, “Advise” or “Sapphire Experience” badge.  This area is dedicated to companies directly linked with the construction or management of superyachts and tenders, and will then be opened up to all visitors starting Thursday.

This year, visitors will be treated to two new exhibitions:

  • The first is dedicated to sailing boats, held on Quai l’Hirondelle where several crafts will be moored opposite the stands representing their respective shipyards, designers and specialist equipment manufacturers.
  • In addition to the show’s historic Designer Gallery, the MYS will feature a Yacht Design & Innovation Hub: a new space for the presentation of yacht design projects where visitors can also interact with designers.

These new enhancements will complement existing show zones: the luxury tender and water toys exhibitions at Tender & Toys (Quai Antoine Ier), in addition to luxury cars at the Car Deck (Quai Antoine Ier), luxury products (Parvis Piscine tent), nautical equipment manufacturers and the latest tech releases (Darse Sud and Quai Albert Ier).

“We are happy to be back at the boat show and even happier to be able to showcase our latest delivery – the 56 m project 13800. We are hopeful that the revamped show concept is a success and that we will have the opportunity to engage with many new build customers”. Michael Bremen, Sales Director at Lürssen

Covid-19 Sanitary & Health Protocol at Monaco Yacht Show 2021

An anti-Covid sanitary protocol will be respected throughout the entire show, from the first day of preparations to the dismantling of the last stand and, of course, during the 4 days of the show.    With last year’s show cancelled due to the pandemic, the decision to go ahead with this year’s edition has meant the show organisers have been monitoring the pandemic very closely as well as the sanitary restrictions applied in various geographical regions.

“As organisers of the exhibition, our responsibility is to ensure safe and healthy conditions for each visitor, exhibitor, service provider and member of staff. The MYS will therefore be following the health measures instated by the principality’s government, as well as the “AllSecure” health security programme, which is mandatory for all Informa Group events.”  Gaëlle Tallarida, General Manager
