Great day yesterday at @yachtclubmonaco for the Superyacht Chef Competition hosted by YCM’s La Belle Classe Academy in partnership with @bluewatercrew .

In between catching up with friends, industry acquaintances and clients, nine superyacht chefs were put to the challenge.

It really was a test of how creative they can be under pressure as they were cooking with a basket of surprise ingredients and had just 5 minutes to check out their ingredients before starting a 40-minute cooking round. I was stumped what could possibly be made with one basket of ingredients including lamb, chocolate and anchovies, but anything was possible!

After each round, their dishes are tasted and judged by a jury of prestigious chefs with 3 finalists going forward to the grand finale.

The overall winner was Chef Marco Tognon from M/Y Planet Nine (73m). Runner up was Chef Tommaso Santoni from M/Y Paloma (60m) and 3rd place went to Chef Henrique Antunes from M/Y Mochafy 22 (45m). Bravo to all chefs 👏👏👏🏆🥈🥉

Other highlights from the day were a Tasting Bar by @superyachtfoodie , an Oyster Bar by @uluvassu.monaco and agrume cocktails by @distilleriedemonaco 🍸🍊

Delivered in 2005, 62-metre M/Y Sea Walk is the 27th-largest yacht built by the Dutch shipyard Oceanco.

On the ranking of the largest yachts in the world, Sea Walk is listed as number 442. She underwent a refit in Barcelona in 2014 with the architecture, engineering, production and styling provided by Azure Yacht Design & Naval Architecture. Her interior is the work of Zuretti Interior Design.

Last year, I interviewed four of the competing Chefs in the Superyacht Chef competition at Monaco Yacht Club. They had a great sense of camaraderie even though they all worked on vessels of varying sizes. It was fantastic speaking to them about their backgrounds, with the Chefs undertaking everything from apprenticeships with Michelin restaurants to making bread and setting up their own bakery before gaining yacht chef jobs.⁠

Tomorrow, the 2023 edition of the Superyacht Chef Competition will be hosted at @yachtclubmonaco under the aegis of La Belle Classe Academy and in partnership with @bluewatercrew with nine yacht chefs going up against each other for the winner's accolade.🏆⁠
