Get your yachting company’s social media underway in one hour

Oct 25, 2026 | Marketing Advice

Many yachting business owners tell me they don’t have time for social media. However, social media can bring customers, leads, opportunities and partnerships.
I know because I’m on social media regularly for myself and my clients. I see the interactions, and I see the deals being made that started with a DM. I’ve seen clients with less than 500 followers land multiple-year contracts.
If you’re struggling with blocking out time for social media, start with 1 hour. That’s all you need to get underway.

Here’s how to use that 60 minutes:

👉 Got an idea? Write it, record it, film it – don’t overthink it. We are our own worst critic – get past the ick feeling and hit publish.
👉 No ideas? Go comment on 5 relevant posts in your niche as your personal profile and/or your company page.
👉 Nothing to say? Add 5 new people to your network. Engage with their content and start a conversation.
You cannot waste this hour. There is always something to do!
Stop wondering “what do I post?” because that’s the last step, not the first. Consider this:
→ What do you know that others don’t?
→ What have you learned this past fortnight?
→ Where will you show up in person so that customers can meet you in the next 2 months?
→ What do you disagree with, or is there something that could be improved?
Then turn that into a post.

7 post ideas you can use right now:

1. A contrarian take
“Most people think yacht marketing needs a big budget and big team. I disagree. Here’s why.” If you’re going to take a contrarian approach, give proof – such as case studies or testimonials – why people should trust YOUR perspective instead of the opposing view.
2. Showcase results
“We grew one client’s mailing list 40% in 2 months. Here’s what we did.” Again, give proof.

3. Make a future call
“Voice search will change how clients find yachting companies by 2027.” I demonstrated this particular example with real-world screenshots and analysis of voice searches.

4. Give a stat or data from an industry report
“3 of the top 5 superyacht builders are based in Europe. Here’s what that means for your yachting company.”
5. Share your business journey
Talk about a challenge, lesson, mistake or turning point. The posts that you might hesitate to publish often get the most reach.
6. Tools and tech you use that helps your job
I’d be lost without Canva, Dropbox, Google Workspace and a host of other apps, tools and platforms that help me plan and manage my day-to-day work. Talk about your favourite organisational tools and ask for recommendations too.
7. Achievements and awards
It took me a long time to get comfortable with talking about my achievements and awards. Sharing results isn’t ego. It’s evidence and proof of your work or expertise, and you should be proud to be your own hype crew.
