An impressive €135 million investment is set to transform Port Vauban into a new state-of-the-art facility over the next few years.
With construction due to begin in October 2020 and be completed by the spring of 2023, the works will only occur during the winter months, meaning that the marina is able to remain open for business for the summer seasons.
Port Vauban Renovation: Amenities & Services
One of the many features planned for the new Port Vauban Antibes will be the renovated International Yacht Club Antibes (IYCA). After arriving via the club’s dedicated and private helipad, guests of the IYCA will have a concierge service and hospitality desk to help with any enquiry, such as securing a reservation at the on-site glass panoramic restaurant which has been cleverly designed to overlook the nearby harbour master’s office.
Afterwards, members of the all-new Yacht Club will be able to make use of the exclusive and modern leisure amenities.
With access to the marina’s designer summer gardens and terraces, superyacht crews are to be well-cared for inside the all-new IYCA during their stay, as a dedicated crew leisure centre with top-of-the-range beauty, fitness, library and training campus facilities are included in the plans.
With 18 berths for superyachts from 70 to 170 metres on offer, most of which have already been sold, berth holders and visitors of the future Port Vauban will benefit from a new service area and a technologically-advanced facility for yacht maintenance.
The future of the shipyard area includes plans for the entire dock to be renovated in consideration of how artisans and professionals will use the space. Therefore, features such as private storage spaces for visiting yachts and a new entrance to the Fort Carré have been included. In terms of security, an additional 162 CCTV cameras will be installed throughout the yard.
Part of the multi-million investment is allocated to tackling the issue of environmental sustainability and so, water quality monitors and new waste management systems are to be installed.
In respect of the marina’s past heritage, the architectural design aims to link the port’s 2,500-year-old ancient structures and recent construction.
