Telethon 2021 at Port Vauban in Antibes

Organised by the Société des Régates d’Antibes and in partnership with Port Vauban, the general public is welcomed to Port Vauban on Saturday 4 December from 10am to 4pm, Quai Vauban 1, opposite the Ferris wheel as part of Telethon 2021.

On the program: a sailing trip for the general public, with the objective and the hope of collecting as many donations as possible (minimum €2 per person). Pass sanitaire is mandatory.

The day is in support of research on rare genetic diseases.

The first time I saw a video of thermal runaway in lithium-ion batteries I was completely shocked. I had no idea of the speed... I had no idea of the vapour cloud ignition.... I had no idea of the high-speed projectiles..... Since then... ↪︎ I’ve seen crew members discuss online saying they'd just toss them overboard if there's a fire. 🔥 ↪︎ I've seen boats push back against investing in certified storage boxes. ↪︎ I've seen dodgy storage solutions sold online, or peddled to yachts directly or yacht management that are downright dangerous, with fake or questionable certifications. This industry can sometimes make me bang my head against the wall ! especially showing how little safety protocols are understood. Safety awareness is still lagging—especially among crews. Rather than keep ranting, I channelled my energy into learning more about what crew and yachts can do to improve safety and mitigate risk. Thanks to @theislandermagazine for giving me space to dive into this topic, and to James Cunningham at @li_vault and Paul Miller at Millstream Underwriting Ltd for their help with my article. The yacht’s signature interior element is an atrium connecting 3 of the 5 decks, however if you saw Project X at anchor at last year’s Monaco Grand Prix you might have seen her lights at dusk which look super cool with the giant “Xs” backdrop. 3. I’m a fan of a great beach club, and Project X’s is sooo impressive: Turkish hamman spa, Finnish sauna, MTBs, water toys, table tennis and a full bar. 🤩 A win for me: Multiple blogs I’ve written for clients now rank higher in organic search results above major media including Boat International, Forbes, and others. Here’s why… 💎 My clients realised that being bold and having a distinct perspective helped them carve out a solid position online. I'm not here to write 'been there, done that' blogs or articles for them that get the personality sucked out of them. Customers will stick with you if you stand for something they believe in. If you stand against something they hate that too! 💎 They trusted me to nail down their target audience. That meant they gave me space to suggest a bold headline for one of their blogs, as an example. 💎 They defined their end goal. Emotional engagement is essential if you sell luxury products or services, but you need to be able to clearly communicate what problems you solve and why it’s important. 💎 I used the 3P’s formula (Product, Person, Payoff) to create storytelling with buying opportunities.
